The Dale Thayer Pitching Theory
We start the building blocks of proper mechanics and mentality at a young age and intensify the training and work as they get older. Below I give a brief description of what to expect from me when I teach differing age groups.
A positive attitude and hard work is what got me to the major leagues. I never had the best arm or the best curve-ball. I threw 90% fastballs in the majors and was not known as a flamethrower. But I was gutsy and stuck to what I was taught and found my niche. I grew up throwing against a wall with an over weighted ball over and over again and even did that through my years in the minors and majors. I have a passion to share some of what I think separated me from others and got me to my highest dreams and goals.
Teach Kids to Throw and Pitch a Baseball Correctly
My approach to teaching children the techniques to develop an individual pitching motion are detailed below:
• arm maintenance (icing, stretching, bands)
• proper way to play catch
• appropriate skills for age
• strengthening arm
• individual goals
Taking it to the Next Level with Pre-Teens
This is the age group where you can see very serious training and beginners. It is a great age to “take it to the next level” and that is my plan for every kid I teach but through these years it is in a way the “sink or swim” years for boys that want to be a pitcher.
Teaching Pitching to High School and Pre-College Boys
This is the easiest one for me. You can expect high expectations and hard work if I teach your kid at this level. A teenagers ability at these ages are extremely high and they are capable of very special things. I will tap in to that. For more information call or email.
